How is the Tarotreader game different from other tarot packs?
Tarotreader uses new, different, individual and advanced concepts and
techniques; unseen in other tarot packs.
The ancient art of tarot reading is based on symbols.
Tarotreader takes a different approach; it uses written text to tell the
'Story', providing written subjects, statements, comments and meanings on each
of the cards.
Tarotreader provides, a unique system of written 'Subject' heading cards.
This means that there are no subjects or meanings to memorize, for they are
already written there. It is easy to understand, easy to learn and fun to use.
When the cards really have something to say, they choose the number of cards
needed to say it. Tarotreader's simple, yet well organized structure, is easily
able to handle what sometimes are a large number of cards.
Tarotreader has a simple structure of subject and story.
The reader selected' Subject' cards, advise what each part of the reading is
referring to. Whilst he tarot 'Story' cards fill in the details with information
in the form of statements, comments and meanings.
The 'Subject' cards are firstly laid across the table in a row. Later, the
shuffled tarot 'Story' cards are added in columns below each of those 'Subject'
cards. When the bottom card in that column shows 'END' the information is
complete; so you always know when to move to the next 'Subject' column.
By following the very simple rules, the reading will modify, adapt and
interact both the meanings and the selection of the cards themselves. The design
interlinks each of the cards within the column, in a self-structuring way that
largely looks after itself.
Each of the of the 78 tarot story cards are double sided, providing 156
individual cards of meaning. These can be combined with various sets of Subject
cards. There are 15 double-sided 'Subject' headings cards, thus providing a
selection of a possible 30 subjects to choose and consider.

(viii) Can
you tell me a bit about a traditional tarot pack?
There are literally hundreds of available individual tarot packs. It would
be usual for them to provide 78 (single-sided) tarot cards, together with some
form of instructional booklet.
Some tarots card packs may be all picture cards; some may be a combination
of picture with some symbol cards. Few tarot packs provide any form of written
meanings on each card other than Major Arcana card titles.
The provided instructions that might be provided may range from a minimal
instructional booklet to a comprehensive book, depending upon the par1icular
set. The information usually includes a list of individual cards meanings, a
reference to a spread or two and some form of how to use instructions.
It is expected that the tarot card reader would over a period of time,
memorize each of these card and the meanings of the spread locations. In the
interim they can refer to the instructional manual for each card or location
meaning, or perhaps as some do, just make up there own meanings.
To the novice, traditional tarot does not have an easy, nor obvious
framework or structure. Card meanings vary from pack to pack, with little
consistency of meanings or interpretations. Therefore learning to use the tarot
in a competent manner is for the majority, a long and difficult process.

Does Tarotreader help me to understand the mysteries and secrets of the
traditional tarot?
I believe so.
The traditions of the tarot have distant links, that reach out through the
mists of time, to that of a long forgotten past, to a time when literacy and the
pen were little known. To a time when knowledge was spoken, stored or
communicated to the individual or the masses as pictorial or symbolic images.
This was indeed a time when man and nature were as one and shared their mystical
secrets.
Thus, the traditional language of tarot has' been veiled by the secrets and
mysteries of symbolism, requiring a good general understanding of images as
symbols. This is assisted by belief and perhaps an intuitive ability to glimpse
and grasp at natures' magic and secrets. It also requires knowledge of tarots'
obscure structures and a good memory for all the cards, their meanings, their
locations, their combinations and their variations. For all these combine to
create a credible and valuable reading.
Tarotreader shines light upon the foundations of Tarots traditional old ways
and old rules. Many of the secrets and mysteries are unveiled and joy of tarots
, structure is now available to all. For, almost like magic, the trickling
written words on each card flow from one onto the next, as they turn and weave
their special form of magic. They seamlessly merge together the various cards to
form their delightful individual stories.
Tarotreader is structured in a manner that does most of the work for you. It
focus's on the written word rather than the image, this allows you to readily
read its meanings.
Tarotreader incorporates the pure traditional beauty of the old, with the
strong design features and concepts of the new, in a way that will stimulate and
enhance your enjoyment of tarot.

Can you tell me a bit about how a tarot reader does a conventional tarot reading
using traditional tarot cards?
Different tarot card readers approach a reading in many different ways. I
would not presume to talk for any other Tarot reader. This is intended only to
indicate the landmarks and general mechanics of a tarot reading.
A conventional or traditional tarot pack comprises 78 single-sided image
(picture) cards; this provides the tarot reader with 78 meanings. Experienced
readers prefer to turn some of the cards upside-down so as to use some of the 78
additional and alternative meanings.
The reading begins by the Tarot reader determining the needs and type of the
reading that you wish and then decides on suitable 'subject' headings that will
address your issues or questions. This will require the tarot card reader to
choose one of a number of well used, reliable 'spreads', or on occasion, to
create a suitable new one.
The tarot cards are then thoroughly shuffled, whilst considering the
question or situation. Perhaps a number of these cards might be turned
upside-down to provide alternative meanings; although only some tarot card
readers seem to do this.
The tarot cards are then laid on the table, creating a particular card
pattern; called a 'spread'. A 'spread' is where tarot cards are laid on the
table at specific pre-decided memorized locations. Each of these locations has a
pre-decided meaning, and may refer to a subject, an issue, a question, a timing
function or a time period. Some tarot card readers might then add additional
cards to those cards already in the 'spread' to gain extra information.
The tarot card reader, having memorized the meanings of each of the 'spread'
locations and the meanings of each of the 78 tarot cards (and their alternative
meanings) then determines the outcome of the combinations of the tarot.
By combining the memorized tabled card positions with the memorized tarot
card meanings or alternative meanings, the tarot card reader forms this into
'story'. This is then relayed and perhaps discussed with the person having the
reading,
Hopefully for the tarot reader, if they are well experienced, they will not
need to refer to the instruction book.
Some tarot card readers say they prefer to read the cards intuitively, using
their feelings; this mean that the same cards can have whatever meaning the
'intuitive' tarot card reader feels is appropriate at the time. A positive of
this method is that it does not need a book of meanings to refer to; or
remember.
